David is called a man after God's heart. This can be a little confusing when you get into his story, because he's guilty of adultery and murder and cover-up. He's a train wreck as a husband, and he's worse as a dad. But his heart belongs to God. His whole life is immersed in the presence and story of God. What lights him up is to serve God and love God, and when he mess up–and he does–he repents and wants to get right with God again. John Ortberg
About This Quote

When David one of the most ruthless killers in history said that his whole life is immersed in the presence and story of God, he was speaking about the person of David. It's amazing how many people have no idea why David was called a man after God's heart. People think that because he killed people and had a lot of enemies, his heart was dark and cruel. But in reality, his heart is pure gold. He is a husband who loves all his family members unconditionally, even his enemies. He is a father who doesn't stop loving his children when they break his trust. He is a person who wants to serve God and enjoy the company of God. He is someone who follows God wherever he goes, even in the depths of despair when he killed someone without thinking.

In this quote from the movie David, we see that when you follow God all your life, when you do things that are not good for you or for other people, you still want to get right with God again by repenting and turning back to God's love.  The best thing about this quote is that it shows us that despite any broken relationships we may have had in life (and we all know at least one person who doesn't make it), we can turn back to God's love because He will always be there waiting for us.
